#TheMotoSocial is a monthly community event that I started in Toronto in order to give the motorcycle enthusiasts and those curious about the lifestyle in our city a somewhat curated and positive platform to meet and build camaraderie.
I started #TheMotoSocialTORONTO back in 2013 with just a few friends and by the end of 2015 it had grown to roughly 500-600 motorcycles monthly. Thankfully, we've been able to maintain the friendly and welcoming environment that I envisioned everyone would experience. We can see new circle of friends being made, new riders being welcomed into a lifestyle that we all love and a real sense of positive community being felt in Toronto.
In early 2015 I started thinking more about branching out and giving other cities a chance to build camaraderie like we do in Toronto through the event. I decided to hold a test event on July 29, 2015 in our capital city of Ottawa, Ontario. I wanted to see the response in a city that I was unfamiliar with and get an idea of what's involved with making it happen far from home.
These photos tell a bit of the story about the day my friends from Town Moto and I rode from Toronto to Ottawa to co-host the event. The test event held at The Ministry of Coffee on Ottwa's West side drew in roughly 100 motorcycles and had a similar friendly vibe like the events in Toronto. We couldn't be more stoked.
